Péter Balogh

Péter Botond Balogh is pursuing a degree in Business Administration and Management at Corvinus University of Budapest, specializing in Business Digitalization. In addition to his business studies, he is enrolled in the JD program at Eötvös Lóránd University to gain a deeper understanding of the legal world. Péter is also a student at the School of International Relations at Mathias Corvinus Collegium, where he explores politics and global affairs.

Péter’s ambition is to understand economic processes not only from the business perspective but also through the lens of public policy. This motivation led him to choose the Business and Government Relations track, making Washington, D.C. an ideal destination for his next chapter. There, he will intern at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association, where he will contribute to regulatory policy research and data analysis. He will also draw on the expertise he gained as a research intern at the Danube Institute and as a commercial intern at the U.S. Embassy in Budapest.

Beyond academics, Péter is deeply committed to strengthening Hungary’s youth sector. While still in high school, he recognized the communication problem between young people and organizations offering valuable opportunities. This insight led him to found Forum App, a startup that has already helped connect over 4,500 students to nearly a thousand opportunities in just a year and a half. His entrepreneurial achievements have taken him to the European Final of the Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards and secured him spots in some of Hungary’s top incubator programs.

Péter’s leadership experience extends into many areas. As deputy group leader of one of Hungary’s largest scout groups, he not only helps organize camps and leadership programs but also fosters a deep connection to nature, promotes sustainability, and instills the value of giving back to the community.

Beyond his involvement in the scouting community, as vice president of the Corvinus Entrepreneurship Club, he is passionate about exploring how innovation can drive economic prosperity and is dedicated to helping other young people launch their own companies. His interest in public policy also led him to join the National Youth Council of Hungary, where he contributed to a range of youth engagement initiatives.

Curious and growth-oriented by nature, Péter has travelled to almost 40 countries, participating in youth projects from the Caribbean to Latvia and gaining research experience in Azerbaijan, where he explored the innovation ecosystem of the Caucasus. He also values physical endurance: as an ultramarathon runner, Péter believes that pushing limits is as important in sports as it is in professional life.

“Motivated by a passion for societal progress, I envision using my knowledge and experience to contribute to public life and drive positive change on a larger scale.” – Péter Balogh
