Meet HuGo, the App for All Things Hungarian in the US
The goal of The Hungary Foundation was to make Hungarian landmarks, points of interests, service providers and institutions across the US visible and easily accessible through a web platform and application for Hungarians, Americans and Hungarian Americans alike.
The idea was soon followed by action, and HuGo has since been made accessible to the public.
You can download HuGo from the iOS app store here, and from the Google Play here.
HuGo collects Hungarian points of interest in the US.
His mission is to help you stay connected with Hungarian culture and people across America. He has a growing list of places and events that you can explore.
But HuGo also needs your help: If you know of any locations or events that HuGo doesn’t know yet, please upload it!
Are you looking for a place that has Dobos cake in your area? Are you interested in joining the Hungarian scouts near you? Do you want to take Hungarian lessons? Near and far, wherever you are in the US, HuGo is working for you. Explore these and other points of interest on his map when you open the app.
HuGo is also a fan of the Hungarian community in the US. Feel free to comment, connect and be friendly with other users. Being part of the Hungarian culture, one way or the other, is what connects us all. One of HuGo’s goals is to bring us all closer together.
While he is hard at work gathering everything he finds, HuGo does need some help. Do you know of places or events that you don’t see on HuGo’s map? Upload them! Add it to a category, along with a photo, and share. HuGo and the community will thank you.
The more points of interest you share the better! As you upload them, you’ll get rewarded by stars. Each state has its own count with HuGo. This means that not only in your own area can you move up in the rankings, but as you visit other states, your contributions will get rewarded there as well. Keep helping HuGo with your knowledge, and watch him add stars to your profile.
You can follow HuGo on Instagram, and on Facebook.
