The Hungary Foundation recently held its annual Winter Alumni Gathering at the iconic Városliget Park in Budapest. The event offered attendees a memorable evening of camaraderie and professional networking.
The gathering brought together alumni from a wide range of Hungary Foundation programs, including the Andrássy and Széll Kálmán Fellowships, the Liberty Bridge Program, and the Budapest Fellowship Program. It provided a platform for alumni to reconnect, share experiences, and explore new opportunities for professional development through continued support from HF.
HF Executive Director Anna Smith Lacey addressed the attendees, highlighting the dedication and impact of the HF Alumni Board in shaping last year’s activities. She also emphasized the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the alumni community.
A standout moment of the evening was the presentation of the HF Alumni Award to Lilla Nóra Kiss in recognition of her exceptional achievements and contributions. Lilla, who served as the Hungary Foundation’s Post-Graduate Visiting Research Fellow at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School from September 2022 to August 2023, focused her research on social media and free speech. During her fellowship, she reached remarkable milestones, including publishing over 20 articles, co-founding an advocacy group, earning an LLM degree, and teaching in GMU’s graduate LLM program. Additionally, she became eligible to take the Washington, DC bar exam, paving the way to becoming a licensed attorney in the district.
Congratulations to Lilla on this well-deserved honor, and best wishes to the entire Hungary Foundation Alumni Community for continued success.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made the event a resounding success!
