Bálint Kovács, HF Post-graduate visiting research alumnus presented a paper on Legal Challenges of Accommodating Economic Security in New York at the International Business Law Scholars’ Roundtable.
Bálint’s paper focused on economic security, and the novel tools used to ensure economic security. He explained some of the investment screening cases that have emerged in Europe and their potential consequences.
Bálint also briefly alluded to some solutions that the newly found challenges may need. With a total of 11 speakers and more than a dozen other attendees, it was an insightful gathering. Because the Roundtable was conceived in such a way that all attendees had to submit their papers in advance, they had a chance to read each other’s papers.
He received extensive feedback from his colleagues, that truly helped him with his further research.
Attending the event gave Bálint great encouragement that he is pursuing a topic that is worth spending time on.
Bálint continues to stay in touch with the colleagues he met at the conference, and keeps expanding his professional network in the academic circles.
