The Hungary Foundation invites applications for “Heritage Preservation” Grants

Interested organizations can apply for grants up to $20,000 until June 6, 2014 for “Heritage Preservation” projects that are in line with and advance the fundamental mission of HIF.

The Hungary Foundation invites interested US-based 501(c)(3) organizations to apply for “Heritage Preservation” grants. There are countless important Hungarian historical sites and private collections of family documents, photos, and other memorabilia all across the United States. These are invaluable mementos of the Hungarian life and diaspora in the US; therefore HIF would like to support their preservations. Therefore, we invite interested Hungarian American organizations to apply for “Heritage preservation” grants.

The details of the application process are below. Before applying, please read our general funding policy (https://www.hungaryfoundation.org/programs-projects/funding-policy) and program policy (https://www.hungaryfoundation.org/programs-projects/program-policy).

Available grant

Applicants can request funding up to $20,000 per project. As a principle, The Hungary Foundation does not provide full funding for projects. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the project through a meaningful contribution of their own human and/or financial resources, but at least in the worth of 10% of the overall project budget.

Project

HIF will consider a broad range of projects under the category of “Heritage preservation”, for example projects aimed at developing existing collections, museums, galleries, archives, projects aimed at promoting historical sites and collections, organizing internships or exchange programs for Hungarian heritage preservation projects, etc. We also welcome projects aimed at preserving, digitalizing, and presenting memories of journeys, and memories of the every days of immigrant life, family histories etc. All projects must be in line with HIF’s mission of preserving the invaluable Hungarian history and heritage in the United States.

The project must be completed until December 30, 2014.
